Well now!

It has certainly been awhile since I updated here!

I had almost forgotten about this blog when a friend commented recently that she still checks here for stampin' ideas.  First I was flattered... Then mortified!

Well I'm back!  If you've been wondering what I've been up to all this time, here's a start:

Holy Busy Summer Batman!

Where did August go?  HOW is it almost over, and HOW have I not posted in so long?  Honestly, I have no good excuse.  

I have still been stamping, so the month has not been a complete waste :)

This is a card that I made for my Mom and Dad who celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on the 13th of this month.  Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!  I am very happy with the way it turned out, but I think what I liked best about it is that it is a perfect example of how much you can get out of a Simply Scrappin' Kit. 

All of the stickers and the designer series paper were left over from one of my kits AFTER I had completed 8 scrapbook pages.  I still have a ton of materials left from that kit -- enough to make more cards AND another scrapbook page or two.

What's more important is that my parents loved the card.

This pic below is my whole fam, taken at the anniversary party.  Aren't we just a good lookin' bunch if you ever saw one?

Retiring Items!

Well, the word is out.  Stampin' Up has announced the lists of retiring stamps and accessories.  Now that I've been through both lists all of about a dozen times I am ready to place my order before my chance is gone.  If any of you is wishing to place an order (before it's too late!), let me know before Thursday July 31!

Sneak Peek!

Here are a series of cards I made as thank-yous for a recent wedding shower.  I made them using a sneak peek set from the *NEW* Stampin' Up catalogue!  I think this set is just too cute, and I 

am so glad I ordered it!  The set is called Window Dressing and it also includes a snowman stamp and christmas greeting that I did not feel the need to use for my thank-you cards.  I used the same layout for each card, but made them all a little different.  I did ten thank-yous in total, and one house warming card using the same template.

I am really excited about the new catalogue and the new stamp sets to come.  From what I've seen so far we are in for some really great, really versatile stamp sets.  To welcome the new catalogue I am planning a Stampin' Up Release Party for Wednesday August 27, from 7pm - 9pm.  This will be a swanky Stampin' Up event that promises to be memorable.  I will have demonstrations using new merchandise, including a demonstration of the new Decor Elements line.  I will also have plenty of door prizes that you wont want to miss.  Add in some tasty apps, and good friends and this will be one for the books.  I hope you can all make it out!

I've been tagged!

I've been tagged (a true honour in the blogging community), which means I have to reveal 7 things about myself that you might not have otherwise known.  Here goes:

1.  I am afraid of heights.

2.  I enjoy domestic tasks such as baking, knitting, gardening, and (duh) paper-crafting.

3.  I like to put on a football game while I knit, though I dislike watching sports.  

4.  I LOVED studying Childhood and Family Relations as my undergrad, though I never plan to work in the field.

5.  I am a dog person though I think our cat, Gordon, is a pretty cool guy.

6.  I am a wine snob.

7.  I tend to accumulate clutter, even though I hate it.

Scrappers 6

It's finally happening!  I'm starting my first club!  My Scrappers 6 club will commence on Wednesday, July 23 and go from 7 - 9 pm.  In that time we will make 8 scrapbook pages, or 4 double-page layouts.  We will do the same thing for 6 months, by the end of which we will have a full scrapbook album of 48 pages!  The cost of the club is $30 per month, which covers the cost of supplies.  The supplies we are using come from the Simply Scrappin' kits, which are on pages 173 - 174 of the Stampin' Up catalogue.  Club members can choose any kit they like for each month -- it doesn't matter if we all do different kits, the layouts we use will work with any of them.  

If you would like to join this club I still have spaces available!  Let your scrappin' friends know!  I will be placing the orders for the class on the 23rd on Monday July 7, so I will need to know before then.

Please keep in mind that the current catalogue ends in August, so if you are wanting to order multiple kits from it you will want to do so in advance.

Thank You

We all know someone we need to thank.  Possibly more than one person.  I am planning a Thank You Card class for Saturday, July 19.  We will be making 10 cards, and the class will include the set "Much Appreciated".  This set includes four appreciative sentiments that could be used on any Thank You card.  The cost of the class is $30, but I will need to have an idea of numbers well in advance so I can order the stamp sets.  I haven't decided which cards we will be making quite yet, but you can bet they'll be impressive.  They have to be -- I have a ton that I need to send out!  This is a great opportunity to grab the "Much Appreciated" set before it's gone, as it will be retiring next month!
